Well, I committed to writing a blog post every damedy day this year, planned out a month at a time. You learn a lot about it and yourself on the days you’re not into it. I started this 12 hours ago. It’s amazing!
Sometimes creative art doesn’t come easy. Maybe you have to drag it out like an old rolled-up rug in an attic. Doing something only when you feel like it makes it a fair-weather friend.
But I want the feeling of opening my planner and seeing all my daily tasks checked off, knowing it wasn’t easy, but totally worth it.
So I wanted to write about mental peace, fulfillment, and self-esteem that happens when engaging in creative arts. I was thinking of all the ways that self-expression brings about those benefits; but the one I hadn’t considered until now was the feeling of having accomplished something you didn’t think you could do, or tried talking yourself out of it, or for whatever reason decided to abandon ship.
That’s when you come away with the prize of having completed something that wasn’t just for fun. It wasn’t fun, but it was better! Peace, fulfillment, and self-esteem! Viola!
