A violin student of mine had this dream to play in an orchestra. She already played the piano but wanted to get involved with playing music in a group. She came to me for lessons because of my experience teaching adults. I was thrilled to start her on her way!
Susan had her share of reasons NOT to listen to that inner voice; a full-time job, some health issues, an office transfer that extended a 10-minute commute to 45 minutes, retirement plans. It’s so tempting to put things off until [life] happens. But she was determined, and nothing was stopping her!
That was around thirteen years ago; Susan and her violin are spending lots of her retirement making music and loving it, hanging out with fellow musicians, friends, and simply terrific people. I’m thrilled to have a part in facilitating her music journey.
Most importantly, Susan had a vision and belief she could do it. “Ideas” usually “announce” themselves with a whisper. With practice, you can tune in easily to that little voice.
Hang around Positive Madness!, and you’ll learn how.
I realized along the way that this process is bigger than just about “me.” That sharing your gifts…passing on what you’ve learned…can make a huge difference in the world. That’s why Tala Arts & Positive Madness! came about. After a while, you come to the (potentially scary) realization that your ideas are bigger than you. Heck, you don’t even really own them; you develop and share them.
