What role does – or do you want – your art or creative venture play? I l really do believe art keeps us sane and civilized, and calls us to a higher level of thinking and being. It’s fun to do – and yeah, sometimes frustrating when we can’t get it exactly as we want it. Fun to see and experience.

Creativity keeps us human, more alive and mentally sharp. We’re both dirty and beautiful. Art isn’t about reaching some perfect, superlative ideal. It’s about accurately reflecting the truth as we see it, even if just our own truth. Maybe it’ll be someone else’s truth as well. Then the snap of recognition and validation when your audience realizes they’re not alone.

Do you allow your art to generate an income for you? Or have you ever thought of capitalizing on your creativity and talent? Not that you necessarily should, but it is possible to allow your art to ease some financial pressure for you. It just takes some unconventional thinking. I’ll help.

Until tomorrow, why not start by asking yourself some questions:

1) What would my career actually be if I knew I’d make enough money no matter what my job, and I wasn’t afraid of failing? (If it’s not your art, that’s fine – we’re just looking for a starting place).

2) Do you ever fantasize “if only?” Like, if only I didn’t have to work. Or, if only my bills were paid up. Or, “d*mn I love to draw; if only I could do this all day.” (I said that about playing violin countless times, and while I don’t play all day as in an orchestra, I do teach).

There’s a saying that goes something like this; “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I am so passionate about not wasting our time on Earth, making the most of it and squeezing out every bit of juice. You should allow yourself to feel joyful and alive as much as possible. So I’ve made it my mission to help you find that place.
