I’ve never been a morning person. I envy people who naturally go to bed early and get up before the sun. I figure the ideal time to get up is about an hour and a half before sunrise. That time of day feels peaceful and close to nature. It just sets a great vibe for the rest of the day.
I wanted to change that, so I actually force myself out of bed at 5:00 every morning. I feel miserable for about 15 minutes. How many times have I wished I’d slept late instead? Never. How many times have I slept late and wished I got up early? Always.
According to James Clear (jamesclear.com), it takes sixty-six consecutive days of action to make it a habit (was that days or years?? haha). I still need some serious willpower and determination, but I learned to look past the temporary discomfort and get the heck up!
A few minutes of yuck gives you a better day!
Love,
Ellen
